Lunch lecture Tim Overdiek – If the man loses. Dealing with setbacks, sadness and mourning

How do men deal with a major loss? Experience shows that they often do this differently from women. They tend to talk, seek support from each other or seek help from a therapist. For a man, nothing is as frustrating as the loss of control. If a problem is unsolvable, the powerlessness can become unbearable. Many a man falls back on destructive behaviour. Isolation is lurking, with suicide as the ultimate consequence: men commit suicide twice as often as women.

This lecture will be held in Dutch

Every third Thursday of the month, Tresoar and De Culturele Onderneming organise a lunch lecture in Leeuwarden on many interesting and current topics. The lecture starts at half past twelve and lasts approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Entrance is free. When registering you can indicate whether you also want to make use of the lunch before the lecture (2 sandwiches + 1 drink, starting at 12.00). The costs for this are 4 euros, payable at the start.
